JCDecaux India: Bangalore Airport opens for business

A new country and a new airport!
The new Bangalore international airport opened to the public on Friday, May 23. With a total of 13 million passenger expected in 2008, Bangalore is India’s 4th largest airport and enjoyed the strongest growth in air traffic in 2007 (+30%).

Overall, JCDecaux manages more than 100 advertising structures at the very heart of strategic areas both inside and outside the airport, representing more than 7,000m2 of advertising space.
The Bangalore media offering also includes a wealth of opportunities for product sponsoring and services, such as the Business Centers made available for passenger use.

Bangalore Airport is the only airport in India to boast a single terminal and a single check-in area for both domestic and international flights.

The first customers are: Satyam Computers, Vodafone, IBM, Cisco Systems, Accenture, Sun micro, Louis Vuitton, Damac, Kingfisher Airlines, etc.

Frédéric Brun, Chief Operating Officer Airport in JCDecaux India, said: “Bangalore Airport is a real showcase for JCDecaux Airport’s expertise with a wide range of structures: digital screens, welcome gate, totems, etc. The Indian teams demonstrated their ability to rise to a major challenge when they installed more than one hundred structures in record time. This airport is acquiring reference status for JCDecaux’s know-how, an advantage that will allow the Group to win business in other Indian airports.”
